Whether you are PCSing stateside or overseas it's important to hand-carry your pet's shot records. I find it helpful to add them to your files with your orders and other important paperwork. Most lodging facilities on base and some off-base hotels will require you to show proof of immunizations such as the rabies shot at the time of check-in.
Also, don't forget your leash and travel poop bags, lol.
