PCSing with DoD as a GS civilian via Air Force travel office. Looking to get my two English Springer Spaniels in country safely.

Will you be flying on the AMC? You can take up to two pets on there.

I contacted my local Air Force travel office and they indicated there were no AMC channel missions to Australia.
2023 NDAA summary says up to 4K reimbursement for military, now asking my agency if I can get that as well. Private shipping quotes were 19K USD to ship the dogs.

Have you checked any of the Facebook groups regarding PCS? I wonder if anyone had a first hand experience at this. There’s one with like almost 18k members “Military PCS with Pets”. May be someone there has done this before. I believe there are also shipping companies in the groups too! Good luck.

You can check out FFExpress. They ship dogs OCONUS. If you also go to our OCONUS PCS tab you’ll see a few other shippers listed you could contact and get quotes from! I definitely would try and get part of the reimbursement if you can! Hopefully that helps! If you have more questions let me know!
