PCSing in Rain or Snow: Keeping Your Dog Warm, Calm, and Comfortable

PCSing in the middle of winter can feel like a full-on obstacle course. Boxes stacked to the ceiling, cold rain dripping from the windows, and snow turning sidewalks into slippery ice. For dogs, the routine they rely on is gone, the familiar smells of home are packed away, and the world suddenly feels unpredictable. During one particularly rainy move, I realized that keeping my dog comfortable, calm, and happy indoors wasn’t just a bonus, it was essential.

When walks were short or impossible, I focused on creating small pockets of warmth and comfort. One of our favorite ways to do this was with Merrick Bone Broth. I’d heat it gently and pour a little over his meals or serve it in a small bowl for sipping.
